We have recorded approximately 540 different species plants, which include everything from trees to lichens, and we're still counting! Foxglove Covert has a rich population and range of plant species forming and representing an important mosaic of habitats.
Foxglove is particularly good for woodland, wetland and grassland plants and holds such interesting plants as the regionally scarce Pepper Saxifrage, Northern Marsh Orchid, Greater Spearwort and Lemon Scented Fern.
Spring, summer and autumn are the best seasons for seeing the plants with a rolling palette of colour and form running through the area. However, winter is not without interest and the Reserve is well worth a visit during the colder months to explore its possibilitie
