June Moths

Here at Foxglove Covert, our species team surveys a variety of different creatures, but on Wednesdays, they spend their morning collecting and identifying the incredible moths caught in our overnight traps.

Moth trapping is a fantastic, harmless way for us to monitor the health of our habitats and track which species are thriving at the reserve. Once they're safely counted and identified, they are released back into the wild.
Here are some of the moths we’ve caught over the last couple of weeks!

Our species meet regularly, so if you happen to drop by the Field Center between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM on a Wednesday, you might get the chance to meet some of these creatures before they're released!
