Another fun-filled Family Activity Day!
Children were able to get involved with pond-dipping, “Name That Tree” Trail, as well as crafts that included making their own mini-beast house and pipe-cleaner dragonflies!
The weather was very fortunate on both days, with only light showers on the Thursday morning. However, that didn't deter visitors, who came and engaged with our indoor craft activities, and were able to explore the Field Centre with a warm drink and a snack from our tuck shop.

Pond-Dipping
Many things were found in the ponds, including snail eggs, tadpoles, great diving beetle larvae and pond skaters, and it was wonderful to hear children so engaged and curious about the many creatures that live within our ponds. Interactive activities such as these are great for getting little minds thinking and questioning the natural world, helping to build the foundations of a lifelong appreciation of nature from a young age!

Visitor Feedback
Since the event, we have received some wonderful feedback in regards to our facilities and our volunteers:
One visitor wrote “We loved today thank you so much Alison was amazing! Our last pond dipping at Foxglove was five years ago and so beautiful as it was then. Back in 2021 we loved pond dipping at Foxglove Covert very lucky to have this nature on our doorstep”

Interested in attending our activity days?
Our next ones already in the works as we look ahead to the warmer months!
More details will be posted regarding these at a later date.
